Dr. Sobel and his staff are excellent. He fitted me for hard contact lenses for keratoconus and was incredibly kind, patient and informative throughout. He and his staff also worked with my insurance company to minimize cost. Highly recommended.
I could not be happier with my Scleral lenses. Dr. Sobel and staff couldn't have been more courteous and Doctor Sobel went above and beyond assisting me with my first pair of lenses. These lenses have changed my life!!!! Thank you Doctor Sobel, Linda and staff
I chose Sobel eye care because they were experts in dealing with my eye condition
Dr. Sobel and the entire staff were wonderful from beginning to end. My eye condition (Keratoconus) can be sometimes difficult to treat, especially if the customer wants contacts but this wasn't the case for Dr. Sobel. He took me on as a new patient and fitted me with a new contact lens that was perfect for my eyes. If you are in the market for Contact Lenses or Eye Glasses, please look no further than Sobel Eye Care. I would highly recommend them!!
I have significant keratoconus and Dr. Sobel was recommended to me for scleral lenses. Dr. Sobel worked tirelessly to fine tune my fit and vision over several visits to get my vision just right. I would recommend Dr. Sobel to anyone with KC, or any other vision issues, without hesitation.
I am wearing Sceral Lens for five years and I have tried many doctors to get the fitting for sceral lens. I only liked only two of them and he is top of the list.
Dr. Sobel is the best keratoconus scleral lens eye doctor in the state. I have had keratoconus for 7 years and have always had to settle for lenses that didn’t fit well and caused pain daily.
After working with Dr. Sobel starting last year he was able to get me into a pair of scleral lenses that fit great and are pain free. I would highly recommend Dr. Sobel to every keratoconus patient.
Scleral Lenses for Dry Eye in Southfield, MI.
Dry eye patients have been experiencing tremendous relief by wearing a technically advanced contact lens, called a scleral lens. It has a special design to keep the eye always moist and has the comfort of a soft contact lens. The eye bathes in a liquid underneath the contact lens. As a result, the eye always feels moist and comfortable.
Scleral lenses give very clear vision allowing patients to see 20/20. Patients with prescriptions needing astigmatism and even bifocals can wear a scleral lens, eliminating the need for glasses altogether.
Patients with extreme dry eye, such as from Sjogren's Syndrome, Thyroid Disease, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Diabetes, Lupus, Graft vs. Host Disease, and Cancer Radiation Treatment can have extremely dry eye and the scleral lenses have returned their eyes to feeling normal again.Dr. Sobel explains " Patients are so excited to have finally found relief after all other treatments have fallen short."Dry eye patients tend to have red, irritated, dry eyes or even watery eyes and the scleral lens makes their eyes feel normal again.
Depending on the medical condition causing the dry eyes, Medicare may cover the scleral lens fitting and lenses, but you will still be responsible for paying the co-pays and deductible. Medical insurances sometimes will cover the scleral lenses for dry eye depending on the medical condition and plan coverage. Our office can find out if your insurance will cover the fitting fees and lenses.
